PART file conversion

I downloaded several files that say "PART" file when I click on Properties. Windows Media Player is able to play them, but other programs don't see them, neither does a standard CD player (which can play MP3 files). Is there a way to convert them into MP3 files?

Where in the properties does it say "PART?" What is the actual file extension? Are you sure they're sound files? Where did you download them from? A little more info would be great.

In General tab I see (first line) "Type of file: PART File". I couldn't find "the actual file extension" other than PART File. Windows Media Player plays them, there's no video image. I downloaded them from the Net with P2P ferret. I wish I knew how to attach a *bmp file here so you'd see what I see on my screen.

Jennifer, I have some news for you: *PART is the extension ( saw it displayed in some programs I tried to use), WMP and other players can play it like any other audiofile, but some programs (e. g., iTunes) do not see it as audio file, so I could not convert it. yuhr
