Outlooks Express Inbox

am using outlook express 6 and am unable to delete anything from the inbox - when i highlight the email item to be deleted i press delete and it appears in the deleted items folder however it is not removed from the inbox & everytime i click on it to delete another copy appears in the deleted items folder - have scanned repeatedly for viruses but my machine comes up clean - any suggestions out there?

You may have a corrupt Inbox. Go to Tools and Options / Maintenance tab Click the "Clean Up Now" button, and choose what you want to do...Compact or Delete. If you choose delete, ALL messages will go.
You could also try going to the folder where your mailboxes are kept, and deleting INBOX. It will be recreated automatically next time you open OE. The folder location can be found by going to the same Maintenance tab, and clicking Store folder. make a note of the location, and go there from Windows Explorer.

Summary: The problem i have is that i can´t delete a half of all the messages in the outlook express inbox. Other options such as moving to other folders are well, but after moving i still can´t delete them....
