Hi, I just installed Outlook 2003. When i fist opened, it shows the message like ../outlook.pst could not be found. And needs to give the location. if I click cancel then it automatically shut down. if I give any other location then it shows file could not be found. I also searched *.pst file in my computer including hide folders but could not find any pst files. Can anybody help me to solve this problem? thanks

Option 1: Try to make a new profile (configuration menu and go to E-mail or mail). Option 2: reinstall outlook. Option 3: try to get somebody to send his/her .pst file and place it in the right folder and try to find it via outlook. Gender doesn't matter in the Computing world. Commom sence does. Don't forget that.

Did you upgrade from another version of Outlook that you were actually using, or are you just starting out with the Outlook configuration? If it's a new setup, you can store your pst file anywhere you want. Please clarify, and I can give you the steps to create a new pst file. Not a good idea to use someone else's pst file. I can't think of a good reason for that. :)as that would contain all their emails, etc. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

I unstalled microsoft office and clear the registry. and reinstalled it. now this problem gone. but I am facing another problem when I click Tool->address book then alert comes like "The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder.........".

See my fix for that particular issue in the Howtos section of this website. Just a note...you may want to move the pst file from it's default location. If something happens to your profile, you may lose the pst.. Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
