Help. I have a Dell Laptop which is only a few months old. Every now and then the performance just DIES. When it does I notice that Outlook.exe is taking almost 100% of the CPU. Even if you do File==>Exit, and Outlook seems to close, outlook.exe is still in task manager, and still consuming all the CPU.
If I manually close the thing via task Manager (end task). the performance gets right back where it should be. Sometimes if I restart Outlook the problem re-occurs right away, and sometime it takes a while.
I am at all the latest Windows and Office Service Packs.
Thanks for any help and suggestions you can offer.
Steve P.

not ending?I have the exact same problem, and also have to use Task Manager to end.
