How do you stop Outlook 2003 receiving emails when closed. There is a outlook icon in the system tray at all times - even when program is closed.

If Outlook icon is in the system tray, it's window is minimised, but the actual program is still running in the background. In that state it will keep checking for messages.

To exit the program, go to 'File --> Exit' in it's menu-bar.

Hi..Thanks...I know how to exit the program, thing is even after exiting the program an icon remains in the System Tray and emails are still being downloaded. I have to go to Task Manager to force the program closed using End Process. This doesn't happen on my Outlook 2007 program on my laptop. Is there a checkbox I need to deselect or something??
