Specs: Windows Vista
I loaded office xp on my pc, vista64 OS ... I know it may look weird but I need to use outlook xp but I got this msg

"Unable to open your default email folders. Could not open the item. Try again"

The only option is "OK", so I click that and get this message:

"Would you like to open your default File System folder instead?"

I was using outlook 2003 and I worked fine

Were you running 2003 on this same computer? If so, why did you revert to 2002 after using 2003?

Go into the Mail icon in Control Panel. From there add a data file to the list.

If your old email (pst) file was created in Outlook 2003, you won't be able to open it in Office XP. The file format coding is different.
