Outlook Working Offline

This may seem like a stupid question, but I have not been able to find an answer anywhere else. What causes Microsoft outlook to automatically work offline. This has become a problem at work because out third party shop control system uses outlook to send e-mail, but some of our users are having a problem with outlook automatically getting set to work offline. Thanks for any info.

Are you running Exchange? Are you sure the computers are indeed obtaining an IP address?

No we're not running exchange, our mail server runs a SCO office OS, and these computers all have static IP's.

I've not seen this behavior, but again, are you sure the computers have network connectivity when Outlook is opening Offline?

Even if Outlook if Offline, you can still configure it to send/receive.
