Apparently Microsoft has set a limit on how much space you can use for rules. Therefore only allowing so many rules. A user at my office gets the following error when trying to set up her most receent rule:
One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules.
This user is setting up a bunch of rules to move incoming mail to a folder setup under/in her inbox. If she gets Emails from managers at a client of ours she sets them up to all go into a folder with that clients name. She does so from Emails within the company as well. It looks like she has about 30-40 of these rules set when she gets this message. Does anyone have a better solution to do what she is doing aside from manually moving the E-mails when she recieves them? Any workarounds? She wants to be able to browse through her new mail quickly to determine priority of the new mail she has recieved.

I believe older versions of Outlook had a limit of 32K for rules...
However, I think in Outlook 2003 that has been changed to an "unlimited" amount of space for rules...
As far as working around the issue...I don;t think there are any "add on" packages that work with Outlook that will allow you to set rules like you want...
Sorry I didn;t have more
Steve

I appreciate the help, but I think Outlook 2003 has the same limit. See this:

Actually it's Exchange 2000 and 2003 that it really applies to I think.
