I have only encountered this problem when trying to send/receive email in MS Office Outlook 2003, but I can't assume that it's a problem with Outlook because I tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS Office 2003, and the problem has persisted. (Unless I need an update, I have never installed the service packs because of all the problems people report with them.)
Every time I try to send/receive email, I get a number of prompts back to back of a similar nature:
"(insert "x" here) - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because }à‰}è‰}$éšٱ.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."The "x" is the only variable, but the windows pop up back to back every time I hit "ok" for the previous one...with the "x" variables in this order:
"DIEmWin: atiptaxx.exe"
"QTPlayer Tray Icon: qttask.exe"
"msmsgs.exe"
"Elara: Apntex.exe"
"ctfmon.exe"
"ATI Tray Icon Application: atiptaxx.exe"It's telling me to reinstall, but I don't know what's causing the problem, so I don't know what to reinstall. Some of those files look like they're related to the ATI thingie in the bottom right of my computer, but when I looked that up, it seems to be a video driver. Is that what I have to reinstall? I don't have any problems with my screen?
What am I supposed to reinstall? Also, that .dll file looks bogus. I could be totally wrong, but that seems more like a bug...like these programs are being told to look for a file that doesn't exist.
Any ideas?
P.S. I just looked back at the .dll file I entered. When I entered it in word, it was a square (usually unreadable character), as it shows in the pop up windows, but now it's an accented i. It shows up as a square in the pop up, so I'm not sure what it's really supposed to be.
