What should the pop and smtp settings be set at if I am using a @yahoo.com account on my Outlook.
My ISP is telus and for my telus.net account they are pop.thelus.net and smtp.telus.net

Have you indeed subscribed to the Premium Services to allow you to use POP3 mail from Yahoo? If not, you won't be able to configure Outlook to check a Yahoo POP account.

If you have, log into your Yahoo mail account, and the directions to configure Yahoo POP mail with email clients is in the Help section.

I think this is what you want. Good luck

How to Configure a POP3 E-mail Account
You must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server, and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server if you want to use an e-mail client to send and receive Yahoo! e-mail messages.

The basic server settings for Yahoo! Mail are as follows:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail name (your address without the "@yahoo.com")
E-mail address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (i.e. user@yahoo.com)
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
