Hi all, trying to recover data from an crashed laptop for someone. Gonna have to re-install os(win2k) Have the drive set as slave in my desktop and made the ghost image, etc.. There is an email acc in Outlook 2000 on that drive that I need to set-up after a rebuild but I dont know the incoming/outgoing/password details etc Have copied over .pst files but that just gives me the mails/folders/etc. How can I get the other details so I can set-up anew? Many Thanks for any replies Jonesy

I am surprised that no-one had a solution to this one, usually get lots of suggestions on this site, but I might have found something myself. Apparently these settings are easily retrievable from the registry, if you can access them of course. For Outlook they are stored in the following location: hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\outlook\omi_account_manager\accounts\000001 here you can see the stored incoming and outgoing mail server info plus login details etc i.e. email account info etc. Outlook express info is also stored, but in another location. I decided to simply install the os on top of the corrupted one and when finished I hope to be able to retriev this info from the registry - may or may not be possible. I just thought I would provide this info incase it may be of use to somebody in the future. Regards to all. Jonesy
