Outlook hangs and cursor flashes

Model/Manufacturer: Acer Ferrari

When replying to a message in Outlook, all of a sudden, the cursor starts flashing and Outlook hangs up. I have to end program to get out of it. It's happening more frequently now. How do I fix this?

What version of Outlook? What SP are you running? Have you tried defragging your drive?

Outlook 2003 is the version. I'm not sure what SP is. Thanks for responding. Yes - I've defragged.
