I have a user who when exiting outlook it constantly freezes, so I took a new machine, loaded outlook, connected as him and same thing... it hung.. i logged off, logged on as myself, tried the same thing(after synchronization and all that) and it works fine. The big differenece between me and him is, he has about 50 folders in his inbox, and I have 5... his mailbox is about 500mb in size.. right now mine is about 10.. but even when it was larger(around 250mb) in size I never had a problem. Any idea's as to why that would hang?
try this...look at your mail status & cancel the send/receive operation; have him delete the email sending out the big file...usually users shouldn't do that = sending out files like 50mbs can cause your whole exchange server to slow down & lots of problems arise from it!
-if you don't cancel it it's going to try to send (which will take years, maybe never) & the user downloading it will have an even worser problem
another situation I forgot to mention is..if it's not a big file he's sending out you should still cancel whatever he's sending out during the "outbox" - some files might be incorrect address, etc...know what i mean?
