I had to restore my PC. So I got windows installed and I had to reinstall outlook express. Right now I don't remember where I got the settings. But i set up the account, entered the pop and smtp servers, my account name and password, server port numbers and checked the boxes for ssl. It worked and I received 38 emails and sent one to myself. This was on Tuesday. Then on Thursday windows update sent me 71 updates which I installed. Today I attempt to receive email and nothing happens. The smtp server is working as I set up Outlook 2003 to receive email from MSN and use my other accounts smtp server (the one outlook express uses). Outlook 2003 ran a email test and it passed including the send test mail. This could be some kind of server issue or else the windows updates did something. I click on send/receive in outlook express and it responds very slowly. It says "securing" for a while, says "checking for new messages" then "disconnecting". Then it quits with no error message and no email. What is going on?
