Hello,
Outlook Express 6 used to block e-mails being displayed in the preview pane, I had to click to decide to download the e-mail before viewing it. It helped me decide whether to delete spam without downloading it by looking at the subject title.
It has stopped doing this for some reason even though the 'Automatically download message when viewing in the preview pane' section is unchecked in the options menu.
Any ideas as to why this has happened and how I might be able to get this setting back without getting rid of the preview pane altogether?
Many thanks.

Dreglord, Open Outlook Express/View/Layout and make sure everything is unchecked under Preview Pane, click Apply/OK.

Thanks for the reply.

I would like to keep the preview pane window on the screen where it is, I just want to stop messages downloading into it automatically. That's the problem.

It's always done it before, it's just suddenly stopped for some reason...?!?

I was having the same problem - You will need to do 2 things.

1.Make sure you uncheck "Automatically download message in viewing pane" from tools>options>Read

2.You will need to unsynchronise your folders - click on the root folder for your email account in the left window and in the main window where it says "Settings" select 'Dont Synchronise'

That should do it!
