My b-i-l installed Outlook along with Office and after doing so decided to uninstall it and use Outlook Express. Now he can't change the default font for new messages. He can highlight the text and change it after typing but the default font stays at Abadi 8 pt. even after trying to change it in options multiple times. I think Outlook took something with it that OE needs to make and stablize the change. Any ideas sort of reinstalling Outlook?

Is "he" changing it under Tools, Options, or in a newly composed message? You can't change the default font within a new message. You can only change it under the Tools menu.

Yes, he's changing it in tools > options > compose > compose fonts > mail.
