Outlook, Exchange and Gmail

Our mail system at work uses an exchange server. I went through and setup my account to retrieve email from my gmail account (tools -> email accounts -> add new email account).
All the settings are correct and the test went through with no errors, the only problem is that nothing is being retrieved. How do i configure outlook to retrieve mail from both the exchange server and the gmail servers.
Also, how do i configure it to store mail in different folders for each account since for some reason it won't let me have more than one pst for delivery on each account active at any one time.
