I am having a weird problem with my OutLook. It was running fine till I restarted my computer. I use XP. I got the blue screen for a harddisk consistency check. Everything went through fine. I logged in and opened Outlook and got the following error message:
"Unable to start processing services. The file C:\Documents and Settings\Nadeem\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.pst is not a personal folder file"I tried to run Scanpst.exe but get the error saying the file is too small for recovery. I tried opening outlook.pst and get "0x80040119" error.
Can someone please help?
Thanks.

Something to try - copy and paste the file and then rename it to whatever. Then in Outlook, from the File menu choose Open/Outlook Data File and select the new file.
HTH

The path should be:
C:\Documents and Settings\Nadeem\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
Is that indeed the location of your pst file?
Try this:
Right-click on the Outlook icon and go to Properties, Data Files and see what's listed there.

Yeah, that is the actual path to my pst file.
There were two files listed there earlier - Archive.pst and Outlook.pst. Going through different forums online I went in there and created another file - same path, but with my name hence, Nadeem.pst.
Now when I open outlook it has a new Personal Folders tab (which I am guessing came from me creating that new file), but its not getting any mails. And my regular Personal Folder (outlook.pst) does not open or expand either giving that same error.
Any ideas?

You'll need to set the new file as the Mail Delivery file. If you need help with that, let me know.
If you feel comfortable sending me your Outlook.pst file, I'd be happy to attempt a repair.
