Outlook error, won't open

Yesterday, I upgraded from ME to XP. I still have the icons for all my office 2000 things and used my office 2000 cd to reinstall programs. Outlook refuses to work! I get the following error..."The operation failed".
I used the cd to repair and nothing changed. All other functions, like PP, FP, Word, all are fine.

What is the data file (pst) that Outlook is attempting to open? Assuming you saved your previous one, it should be pointed to the path where that file is located.
Right click on the Outlook icon, Properties, Data Files...

nothing comes up. the path it directs to only is on my desktop. don't know why it's the only office item not working but i really need to start a new calendar.

problem fixed! i needed to get rid of the short cut for outlook that was on my desktop, then reinstall office and outlook worked fine.
