Comment:

For some reason my outlook all of a sudden started acting wonky. When I tried to compose an e-mail the alert came up saying "Starting word as your e-mail editor" and just stays there. It does not start up word. Also my links embeded in e-mails do not work. I click on them and nothing happens. Any idea why this is going on and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.. :)

Go into your Options and uncheck the box that reads "Use Word as e-mail editor."

What happens when you click on the links? Do they appear as HTML links, or just as regular text?

They do show up as HTML links. When I click on them nothing happens. No waiting cursor, just nothing. No link to the net.

Tools/Options/Mail Format - put HTML in that first dropdown field and hit Apply. That should take care of the links issue I believe. (It's probably set on plain text or Microsoft Outlook RealText right now)

As far as the Word issue when you try to compose an email message...that is an Interent setting within Internet Explorer. Click on Tools/Internet Options/"Programs" TAB and in the field that says Email make sure it says Microsoft Outlook.

I've seen this work and not work before depending on some other factors. How long ago did this all start?

Where's the any key?

Thanks for your help.
I don't know what fixed it, or what broke it in the first place. But believe it or not, it all of a sudden decided to work again with no intervention by me.... LOL... I think I should study to be a computer psychiatrist. Then maybe I could explain why computers do some of the things that they do....
