Outlook downloads slowly from Gmail

I'm using Outlook 2007 with my Gmail account but it downloads the e-mails very slowly from Gmail. I cant see the exact transfer rate but it looks like about 10 kb/s max. Usually even slower. I have a 1.5 cable connection so its not normal obviously. Plus when downloading attachments from GMail's site using my browser its normal. Any ideas?
