outlook causes word to open

Whenever I turn on word as my default email editor, word starts on top of outlook at startup. I use the same identical version of office (XP) on identical machines, and they don't have this problem. The only thing different is that this machine has an ATI video card, and all the others are integrated. Any suggestions? Turning off word as email editor is not an option. Currently have Office SP3, and Windows 2000 pro w/ SP4 installed.

Try setting the default mail editor to something else (other than word). Reboot the machine, and then set it back to Word. Has worked for us in the past.
