Outlook Calendar, data from other calendars

So I have a friend that asked me if it was possible to make a general calendar in Outlook that pulls data from his calendar and his co-workers calendar and then populates the general calendar. Is this possible? For example, if each user adds an event to their calendar and then maybe labels it like, "Event Planning", can Outlook then take all of the events with that label and then put it into this general calendar?
They both have shared calendars and I told them just to look at each others calendars, but they don't want to do that.
So...is this a possible scenario? Or is there another method that you know of to achieve something similar? Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes it is running through an exchange server. Both their calendars are shared, so I'm wondering if we can pull data from their calendars to populate another calendar.
