Outlook adds spacing between images in reply

Hi there

I have someone that sends me a periodic newsletter which is mainly images put together. When I reply or forward these emails it adds a small gap between the images which looks stupid. Also some people have the gap showing up when they just look at the email, and their Outlook settings are all the same.

Can anyone help with this? All clients are Windows XP Pro, using Office 2003 or Office XP.
