When I open Outlook 2003, I get the following:

Configuring Outlook Accounts
-Creating welcome message.

After awhile I get:

The connection to the Microsoft Exchange server is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.

From this point, no matter what I do, I can't get Outlook to open. The problem is, I'm not on a network that's running MS Exchange server. I think I just made a mistake when I set up my email account. Is there anyway to correct or erase the default mail account so that I can at least get Outlook to open?

You probably have Microsoft Exchange set as the type of account.

The I don't think you have an option to change the account type after it's set.

So, just make sure you have the account information (name, servers, etc), and close that window.

Then, go back in and create a new account. This time, select the proper option. I'm guessing it's probably POP3. Then, just continue with the configuration.

That should do it. Please post back to let us know how that works for you. :)
