My Outlook (Office 2000) worked okay but it kept freezing and I got an error message saying tht Microsoft no longer supported 2000). Got Microsoft Office 2003 and installed it. Everything but Outlook workks fine. Uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled Outlook 2000 and also reinstalled it. Outlook says "Can't start MIcrosoft Outlook. Unable to open MIcrosoft WIndows. The set of folders could not be opened " and then Outlook quits. What happened-what do I do? opened

So which version of Outlook are you running? 2003 or 2000? If the folders can't be opened, then you don't have the data files configured properly.

When you right-click on the Outlook icon (NOT shortcut) and select Properties, Data files, what's listed as the Mail Delivery file? Does it indeed exist, and if so, how large is the file?

Jennifer - I tried what you mention, and I don't see anyplace to select Data files. I went to the Outlook icon in Programs folder.

Do you have a Data Files option there?

Which version is installed now? 2003 or 2000?

Version 2003 is installed. Why would it get screwed up after installing the upgrade? The mail delivery file is in the personal folder. The file is 69,457 KB. There is another Office Data folder that is 17.392 and an archive folder. Does this help?

You need to make sure that the Mail Delivery File actually exists on your HDD, and is indeed the file where you want mail delivered.

When you open Outlook, what is the exact error message? You mention Microsoft Windows in your original post.
