Hi, I've recently upgraded to Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2000, and ever since then I've had problems sending mail (receiving is no problem). The mail will go eventually, but not before Outlook tries and fails several times with a "SMTP server not found" error. This immediately started happening after the upgrade, so it's unlikely to be an ISP issue, as prior to the upgrade I never had any problems. Has anyone else seen this problem at all, and if so, anyone suggest a fix ? I'm actually considering going back to Outlook 2000, at least that was reliable !

I had issues with 2003 also and went back to XP... Check in Options > Accounts > edit your account and go to the Server tab > Advanced and see if you have the box checked..."server requires authentication" or words similiar to that...

I'm having a similiar problem sending with Outlook 2003. My problem is worse in that I can't send at all. When I attempt to send i get prompted to enter a network password for the outgoing SMTP server. I have used my e-mail account details and other variations (e.g. blank password) with no luck. All email account settings are correct including "server required authentication..." checkbox. My ISP has no idea...they didn't even know Outlook/Office 2003 existed!!
