Does anyone know, short of VB editing how to stop the accursed "A program is trying to access e-mail........" message?
I believe this is related to Office 2003 on XP SP2 but it is a real pain in a business environment where secretaries commonly have to update a Manager's calendar.
Any suggestions greatly accepted!
Regards,Bob Mitchell.

It worked for me when I disabled Word as the Email Editor.

Thanks for that, actually amongst the heap of stuff you get when you Google this was a comment by someone who said it does not happen if you set your e-mail as HTML, which of course disables Word as editor.
Have to see what my bosses think of this, I have about 3,000 users!
Thanks for your input.

Well, as a rule, setting the emails to HTML default format doesn't disable Word as the email editor unless you specifically set something else as the html editor in IE Programs.
Interesting theory though. Maybe setting the emails to html and then changing the html editor (NOT email editor) to notepad would disable the error. Cause, I'm not receiving it, and those are my settings. But, I'm not using Word as my email editor either.
It's a vicious circle. LOL Lemme check with one of my users who is experiencing this and see what her settings are. I'll get back to you.

I have found out that the Security warning only appears after Office 2003 is updated to SP2, Office that is, not XP. If we cannot find a practical "fix" for this we are seriously considering rolling back to SP1 so any input welcome, thanks for yout time & effort.

I'm running Office 2003 SP1, yet I have the same problem with MS Word as the e-mail editor. I don't know therefore whether rolling back to SP1 will do the trick for you

Thanks for that Rene, we have only just started to get these irritating warnings so I assumed it was due to the SP2 update but what really puzzles me is, if the fix is to disable Word as e-mail editor then the "security" implication flies out the window, (no pun intended!)
The M$ site makes it very clear that this is the intended behaviour and offers no insights on doing anything about it.
Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
