I have a user that is reporting that he loses his sorting view in Outlook at times when switching back and forth between a mounted .pst file and his regular inbox. This does not happen every time, however. I have done some searching but not with any results. Ideas?

When he opens a folder in a .pst file, outlook will remember the view that he used last on that folder. If this didn't have the sorting view on then it may well appear to have been lost. If he/you make(s) the view "right" again at that point then it ought to be right again next time he opens that folder in that file.
Or do you mean that if he goes from his inbox (with sorting view intact) to a .pst file then back to his inbox, his inbox has lost the sorting view?
If you mean the second one, no idea... assuming of course that the user is returning to his own inbox and not to an inbox within another .pst file!

Yes, I meant the second...where the user is in his own inbox with sorting intact...goes to a .pst file, then comes back to his same inbox, and the sorting is off.
He has also noticed that he loses custom formatting from time to time too...for example: if you select for a specific e-mail to be in a certain color when it is received into your inbox. I don't know if this is related or not!
