When I am in Outlook 2003 and go to attach a file into an email, when you hit the paper clip(insert file),and then hit the drop down to navigate to where the file is, Outlook hangs for about a minute and then recovers. It will say on the Outlook title bar, Outlook (not responding). It has service pack 1 installed. I have run a repair and I have also uninstalled/reinstalled Office.
Does anyone know what is causing this? Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

same here, 2 customers, same issue. Have ran office updates, no luck.

I think I found out the fix for this issue. The delay may be caused by windows Explorer looking for a server that no longer exists.
First, check to see if you have any manual drive mappings, if you do, check to see if they are still valid. You may be getting a message when you boot regarding a drive mapping that cannot connect.
Second, check My Network Places for any bad links.
Third, if all of this still does not fix the issue, check your path setting. Right-Click My Computer, go to properties, Advanced, Environment Variables, Path. Look for any entries with UNC paths, i.e. \\cgntech\utilites, etc., or even look for bad links that point to P:. Maybe a folder got renamed on P for some reason.
Let me know how it goes.
