Outlook frequently (but not always) crashes (and restarts) during send/receive function when syncing with a hotmail account. This just started recently, I thought it may be due to file size, but not sure. Anyone had this experience and what ideas for solutions? Thanks!!

How large is your pst file? Have you tried creating another pst to see if the problem recurs?

Jennifer this is a good question. The files are quite large. The PST file size shows as 1.4 GB, the hotmail file is 1.7GB and the archive is 761 KB. Are there optimal file sizes that should be maintained? Thanks for your thoughts

If the file was pre-2003, then you have a 2 gig limitation on file size. I'd at the very least clean out the files, including the Sent and Deleted items, and then run a compact. That should help.
