I have this same problem as user below has posted. Please post a fix. Jennifer where are you?

I am running Outlook 2003 and have contacts in my contact list but when I try to access them from the To: or CC: buttons, they will not show up in dialog box. I have run through the standard configurations screens with no luck and have even created a new .pst file and imported prior contents only to be in worse shape. Now, when I click the To: Button, I get a message that says: "The contacts address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened or found . . . .etc."

Lol, ok so you corrupted the address book, no biggie.

Tools>Email Accounts

Pick 'View or change existing directories or address books' and hit next.

You will most likely have one entry. Remove it.

Hit add and and pick 'Additional address books' and hit next, pick 'outlook address book'.

Once thats done you'll have a new address book. This address book contains all names that will appear when you hit the "To" and "CC" buttons. However since you just created it, it will be empty. In order to add names to the address book you have to edit the properties of each group of contacts that you have. If the only contacts folder you have is 'Contacts' then this will be a snap. Right click it and open properties. There is a tab for address book. In that tab select the option that says show this folder in the address book. If you have more contact folders just repeat those steps.

So there ya go! I hope that works out for you, let me know.

Outlook 2003 SP2: XP Pro

My Main "Contacts" "Current View" "Address Cards", I see ALL my contacts (Home, Business, etc)with their e-mail adresses - if they have them, etc. When I start a new Outlook e-mail message and click "To" to bring up all the e-mail adresses I can use, I get less than half of those in the Contacts folder - why? (at the moment I have to go to the Contacts folder find the card, cut and paste, etc
I have no "Private" check boxes checked, etc. checked and no filters on
I can see no obvious "pattern" as to why some contacts will display but not others - I've looked!

I tried the above but still only get half my e-mail addresess....

I have re-imported the Contacts several times (an Excel *.csv" file) and can see all the address cards in the main contacts folder
