Outlook 2002, Zone Alarm Antivirus

Comment:
I recently installed zone alarm with antivirus. I use MS outlook 2002, which has 5 mailboxes in send/receive. When I do a send/receive, it seems to hang after the 2nd or 3rd one. I've increased the timeout setting.
I can't find understandable instructions on how to set up Zone Alarm to work with Outlook.

I had the same problem & the only way around it at the time (6 months or so ago) was to uninstall Zone Alarm, re-install an older version (4.5.594) which hasn't got the e-mail scanning part, and then use a normal antivirus program to handle e-mail checking. I remember Googling the problem & finding I wasn't alone in having problems with ZA/Outlook and this was the only option.

Thanks. I've read other forums and saw that this was a problem. Last night I reinstalled ZA turning off (and keeping off) the XP SP2 firewall before doing that. I ran Outlook once this morning, and can you believe it -- no send/receive problem.
I can't believe the fix would be as simple as that!

that is why it is recommended that you run only 1 firewall. Multiple firewalls will have conflicts.
