Using Outlook 2002.Default auto archive settings are completed. Each folder is set to 'use default auto archive settings'
Auto archive runs normally, dialog goes through each folder however no files are moved from the personal.pst file into the archive.pst file even though many emails match the criteria 'older than 6 months'.
Emails were imported from Outlook Express. Could this be something to do with a 'modified date' rather than a send date?Could it be something to do with a kb limit on the archive.pst file?
Could really do with some help on this.

"Could this be something to do with a 'modified date' rather than a send date? "
Yep. it's a pain isn't it.
"Could it be something to do with a kb limit on the archive.pst file?"
nah, my pst file is currently over 500MB. the trouble is the files are copied rather than moved as they should be. This has been a sticky problem for some time. some 3rd party software had sprung up to help but I haven't played with any. I usually wait until it gets to be 650MB then copy that file to a CD disk and go into outlook and manually delete everything more than 2 months old.

It must be something in addition to the modification date. I do think it is part of the archive process however if I archive my Sent Items with a date of 1/2/03 and then cancel it in the middle. Then try to initiate another archive on that date or prior it will not do anything. Even though there are plenty of messages older than that and not modified. However if I set the date to 1/3/03 it will take them and move them.
There must be a Archive Date field assigned to the folder in addition to the modification date.
By the way do you have the name of the third party software that addresses this issue? Is there a Microsoft KB article on it? If so please send me whatever you have.
Thanks
