My email software is Outlook 2002. All of the sudden I can no longer send email but I can receive mail. I get a 0x80042109 error,"Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing email server." I looked the error code on Microsoft's website but it states that this is conflict with MSN mail. I do not use or have a MSN account setup. I use prodigy. All my settings are the same, nothing has changed. Has anyone had this same problem? If so, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Prodigy and have them provide you with their Outgoing mail server address, then make the necessary changes.

I contacted them this morning. My settings are correct. Any other ideas? Would it maybe help to uninstall Office and reinstall it?

Have you tried also checking the box for "My server requires Authentication, etc." If it is checked, remove it, vice versa.

The server address is pop.prodigy.net. I tried checking and unchecking the "My server requires Authentication." I'm just going to dump it and see what happens. I'll reply when I figure something out. Thanks for the help.

Your Incoming mail server address should be: pop.prodigy.net Your outgoing mail server should then be : smtp.prodigy.net Try these settings. Let me know if this helps.
