I have a user of Outlook 2002 (Exchange 2002) who used to be a Lotus Notes user. He tells me that in notes, you can setup a "Send to File" option that allows you to choose any of your created folders to save the sent message in. This user wants Outlook to be able to do the same thing. He wants to create an email, and then have the option to store that message in a particular folder (which changes depending on the mail being sent).
I know he can move the sent mail to a different folder, but he doesnt want to have to weed through a bunch of sent mail, rather have the abiltiy to do it as he sends. I told him he could create a rule, but there isnt any of the same information on all email's to easily create a rule with.
Not possible in Outlook. Rules apply to only incoming email, not outgoing. There may be a third-party utility that does what your user wants, but I'm not aware of anything.
Unless and until you can find a utility, the user should probably just move the sent emails immediately after sending. Or, run Advanced Finds to search for specific subjects, etc. Then move them to the appropriate folder.
