I'm having a really strange problem with outlook on one of my machines.
Everything is set up correctly and was working fine until a couple of weeks ago. Now all of a sudden, it won't receive or send any emails.
When I hit the send/receive button, it imediately pops up the box saying task successful, but hasn't downloaded any new emails (that I know are there via webmail option), and any mails in the outbasket remain there.
I've tested the account settings on another machine and that sends and receives without a problem.
I've also run the 'fix outlook' option and still have the same problem.
Any ideas appreciated.

Have you actually gone into the account configuration and verified that all the information (login, password, servers) is entered correctly?

Also check the Rules Wizard in the Tools menu. If you have inadvertently deleted folders that an existing rule directs mail to, your emails will be received correctly and then lost into the void. Also check in the View menu under Current View and ensure that Messages is checked. If this is not checked you may not be able to see some/all of your messages. Hope that helps!
At times like this I wish I had listened to what my mother used to tell me...

Neither can I send of receive from outlook. I can send and receive from outlook express. But not from outlook. I don't know what is up. I've hcanged my firewall settings. I've done the pop3 rather than smtp thing. It is a comcast account. On their webpage is shows how to set up the account. I did it correctly. And I then tried importing the account directly from outlook express, which is working. Still nothing. Can someone please help? My mobile device is only compatible with outlook rather than outlook express.
