CPU/Ram: 866mhz/320ram

since about two weeks ago i have not been able to reply to any messages or send new messages from outlook 2000. when i hit the reply button outlook either shuts down shuts down immediately, or i get a "run-time error/abnormal program termination" message.

any ideas? i have updated norton system works and firewall installed and they don't seem to have detected any virus activity. please advise.

Could be a corrupt pst file. Two things come to mind to try. First, try running the Inbox Repair Tool from within Outlook. Before you run it, make a copy of your pst file just in case.

If that doesn't work, it's possible something in your pst file itself is corrupt. It's probably not an email causing the problem, so you could create another pst file and just copy the data over from the existing one to the new one. Then, delete the current file.

hi, tried both tips, still no changes. couldn't actually find the inbox repair tool but there was a "detect and repair" tool under the help dropdown (no effect). tried creating a new .pst file and copying over the old folders but still get same shut down when trying to reply to a message.
