I have a recurring symptom of Outlook becoming unable to remember the settings for replying and forwarding. I prefer to have Outlook prefix my quoted text with the > symbol, and when I first set it up, it did so just fine. But, now it insists on putting that bar down the side, with the slight indent. Changing it to any other setting seems to work.
Also, when I first set up Outlook 2000, it would reply with the proper font as default. In my case, I set it to use Comic Sans Regular 12 pt. But, now when I reply or forward, I get Arial 10, which happen to be my chosen "plain-text" font. Changing any of the font settings don't do anything anymore for replying and forwarding, but I still get my Comic Sans when typing a new message.
Anybody want to field this one? I have been using, repairing and building computers for 18 years. But, I can't figure this one out.
Oh, BTW, I have reformatted and reinstalled everything since having this problem the first time. It came back again. The only recent installations have been games, and some critical updates... Windows updates, not for Office.
