I have a user that insists every time he is on wireless outlook freezes up on him and he cant do anything(but everything else works fine) however, if he works offline, or works connected to the office lan, it's fine. The only thing I can think of is that the condition of his wireless connection is too weak and (he has a large mailbox) it just cant handle the amount of data it has to transfer. Any thoughts as to what could be going on? I believe wireless through the vpn is the only time he has an issue.

Certainly possible if the pst file is stored on a server. Have you considered moving the pst file to a local partition?

pst file is stored on his machine. He has 3 large PST files and a large general inbox... although, here is his email saying what the issue is.

"Office works fine offline and on line in the office using the vpn and when dialed up via att using the vpn

When connexted wireless on 802.1 B or G I can connect the vpn, I can browse the web, I can access other company servers but when I book outlook it comes up then freezes after about 10 seconds, usually when syncing. I can boot it offline and it comes up and works fine until I try to sync. Then it generally sends any outbound messages before hanging and freezing up."

the fact that at&t dialup works fine kinda kills all thoughts that maybe it's a bandwidth issue. Is it possible that outlook has an issue with his wireless card? He's been using the same card for a few years so I doubt that is it.
