I'm looking for software that will allow me to edit a document using WORD. Being able to change the FONT, SIZE, etc...

Your question doesn't make sense.

Word is software for editing documents.

If you "edit a document using WORD" you are using software - Microsoft Word.

What are you trying to do?

If the document wasn't scanned with an OCR (Optical Character Reader) software package, then it's most likely a picture or graphic (.bmp, .jpg, etc.)

In that's the case then it can't be edited.

If it's a .txt or other type of editable text document (i.e. scanned with an OCR) then any editing software should be able to deal with it. Word, OpenOffice, etc.

Maybe there's more you need to tell us. What is the extension of the file?

When I scan a document, I can save it either as a picture of PDF. I'm sorry, I left out parts in my question. I am aware that I need a OCR program, I should have asked what is a good OCR program. I did put OCR in the subject line.

Actually, you put Orc in the subject line, not OCR, which I think added to the confusion.

There are various free OCR programs available via a web search, and many better ones that will allow for a free trial.

Perhaps it would best if you could find software directly compatible with your brand of hardware. I'd check the website of the company that made your scanner to see if they offer an OCR package.

In fact, I'm surprised it didn't come with one.
