We have a bunch of documents that were created using Word 2000. Lately a few users in our unit have been upgraded to Office XP.

The problem is, many of the old documents appear with shonky formatting when opened in Word XP but appear as normal when opened in Word 2000. By 'shonky formatting' I mean things like misshapen tables with fields in the wrong places, margins producing errors, envelope labels suddenly appearing several inches to the left of where they are in Word 2000...

We have quite a lot of files that this has happened to. One lady was saying how she receives monthly charts from a colleague and now that she's upgraded to Office XP, the charts are a complete mess and unreadable.

Is this a *common occurance*? I can't believe there would be a bug this huge that I can't seem to find any information about. Is there any solution?
