Comment:

I purchased a new i-mac and had all my Microsoft Office
Word and Excel files copied over. Several of them are
password protected. The Mac won't open them--gives
me a message that "File is encrypted and cannot be
opened". Can you offer a solution?

Hi,

Congrats on the iMac. Not sure if you ever got your answer
but you cannot open a password Excel file in Numbers and
vice versa. It is unfortunate but you will need to use MS
Office to open those files or maybe a product on open
source in the interim.

Good luck!
