Outlook mail. The "Mail Folders" pane. Approx 2 months ago the icons all became distorted, that is they appear as if they have been cropped, top and bottom, so that only a strip (30%?) of the actual con appears. When Outlook is opened, they are ok, and switch after 30 mins or so. Close, re-open, OK, then 30 min later.... Icons in Contact and Tasks panes have the same issue. Have avast! anti virus and the hardware environment is unchanged, machine is about 4 yrs old.
andrewb, Right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Settings tab change the Color Quality from 32 bit to 16 bit, click Apply/OK. Now go back and change the Color Quality from 16 bit to 32 bit, click Apply/OK then restart your computer. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file and hopefully may correct your icon problem.
