Specs: Windows 7
I want to delete letters a-z on my microsoft excel chart and insert dates in each columns such as
9/3 etc.

You cannot delete the letters across the top row, any more than you can delete the numbers down the side. They are an essential part of any spreadsheet.

If you want a date along the top you put them in row one and format it as a column label.

OK, so first we're going to assume that when the OP says "my microsoft excel chart" he really means "my Microsoft Excel spreadsheet".

An Excel Chart is a specific object in Excel, either displayed within a spreadsheet, or as a separate sheet containing just the chart.

That said, let's make sure we're clear on this Row and Column header issue.

True, you can't delete the Row and Column headers, but you don't have to display them.

Assuming Excel 2007 or later:

File...Options...Advanced...Display options for this worksheet...

Uncheck "Show row and column Headers"
