While trying to access any Office XP program, I am asked to insert Office XP Disc. If I cancel, I get error saying "....has not been installed for the current user." I tried the Microsoft KB fix, reinstalled several times, but still have problems. If I insert the disc when asked, the program runs without problems. Major inconvienance though. Same thing also happens on my Win 98 AMD machine.
Any help appreciated!

Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs
Click on Microsoft Office
Change/Remove
Add
Then, click on all programs you want (one at a time) and select "Run All From My Computer."

Interesting stuff happening man?
This is part and parcel part of the "same" problem, and it has to do with the PROPLUS.MSI file for Front Page. I'm trying to update to SP3 for Office,I've tried the previous suggestion, which was moot as it was already done.
Ok..I "have" the Office XP Professional CD's ...3 of them, (the third one is Publisher).
I've done a search on these CD's and although there's a bunch of numbered .MSI files, along with the usual .MSI files, there is NO Proplus.MSI file at all.
These are retail bought, legitimate CD's with a Key.
So where on these CD's would you "think" that the Proplus.MSI file would happen to be? compressed into a Cab file? if so which one so I can extract that damn thing and get on with this...
Thanks..either reply here or to my email.
Thanks***Before you bash, the copy of Windows XP Pro that I'm running is NOT a bootleg it's a legitimate store bought version with a legitimate CD key....the same for Office XP Professional...Store bought CD with working Key...
Looking forward to a fix for this...quickly

found this article talkin about ur prob. Have a look at http://www.petri.co.il/office_xp_sp_slipstreaming.htm, or http://www.msfn.org/unattended/xp/officexp_advanced.htm
