All my Office applications crash every few seconds after I have installed my HP Printers.
Error message: "Faulting application winword.exe, version 10.0.6612.0, faulting module hpzpm309.dll, version 2.236.2.0, fault address 0x000354b3."
It occurres in Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and with Office 2000 and Office XP. My HP printer is currently HP DJ5150, previously HP DJ3320. It only happens on a pc with a AMD Athlon 1470MHz processor.
I have no other solution, than uninstalling my printer and printing from my other my pc over the network. That works.
This one is a Pentium II 350MHz.

I also had this problem - and had a search around and on

I found the following:

Eureka!
More like 'you geeker' actually:
I've had Word for Windows crashing on and off ever since I moved to a new computer a couple of weeks back. I tried everything. The Dr. Watson error report didn't give any clues. Finally this morning I happened to look in the Computer Management 'snap-in' (no prizes for naming that one, Microsoft) and saw the crashes listed under Event Viewer / Application. This clearly identifies the culprit as hpzpm309.dll – part of the HP printer driver. That led me to this message on microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support, which turned out to be spot on. Here's the lesson learned:If Word keeps crashing and you connect to a Hewlett Packard printer through another computer on your network, install the driver for some nonexistent local printer ("my other car's a Color LaserJet") and make the nonexistent one your default printer when that other computer is switched off.
I hadn't even noticed that the crashes only happened when Caro's PC was down, but come to think of it they did. Let's hope they're banished for good now.
For ease, the news article is as follows:
I have found a solution:
My HP Printer is connected to my desktop, which is connected by a
network cable to my laptop. I share the printer with my laptop, and if
I want to print from my laptop, I have to have my desktop on (because
the printer is only connected to the desktop). If the desktop is off, and I open Word, I get that error message. The
hpzpm309.dll is an HP printer driver. Word will not start if the
connection is not there. If I choose another default printer (even
though I don't have another) and set it to use offline, then I do not
get the error message, and can use Word. Are you on a network as well, sharing a printer?
This seems to work!
