I had to reinstall Office 97 because I'd installed a print add on for Word(can't remember which one) and it screwed up! Anyway I'd done reinstalling before and thins were fine but not this time. There's two users for the comp and whichever one I install Office from the assciations work fine but not from the other. I've tried associating them every way I can but to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!

Using the MS Office CD uninstall the product and then using the CD again install it using Custom Install.

When installing go ahead and install it into either C:\Program Files or All users...

I suspect you inadvertantly installed it for just the single user and under that individual's profile.

I thought I might have just installed it for one user but I doubt it's the case. Office 97 doesn't really seem to have that kind of option and I did a custom like usual and it was in the program files folder, basically it was almost identical to the other times I'd reinstalled it.
There's no error coming up. The .doc and all the other office associations either have no default program or for .doc it's wordpad. I can try and do that whole choose a program thing with properities or when I try to open one other than .doc and when I choose the right program it opens but the associations that I've ticked to remain don't!
