Howdy all,
We were running perfectly fine with Office 2000 than we patched it with SR-1a through 3. We restarted and ran each program after each patch however we are having a problem.
When new users open any program they are getting asked for the CD then it errors out. Any suggestions?

Do you have a legitamate copy of Office 2000?
There were a lot of pirate copies of Office 2000 around that worked fine until you installed any of the SPs. This sounds like one of them.

I have tried installing from a network share and the original CD. We are running the “Select” version of Office 2000 Professional with only Disk 1 loaded. I have also encountered this problem with installing both disks.

Hi there
I have come across a similar problem. We have the select version installed throught our company. I have patched the installation on the server to sp3 using the disk sent to us from microsoft.
Now, randomly on clients a message appears asking the user to register their copy off microsoft office 2000.
Surely this is wrong as we have select version...?
PS, how can you verify that the version of office is select?
