This is a really weird problem, to say the least. User has Office 2003, and whenever he opens up any office application, goes to open/save, and when he clicks on the location drop down menu, it disappears for like 10-25 seconds, and basically locks up the application. After the time though, it comes back like normal. If he keeps the application open, he can go back in to open/save without the problem. But the second he closes one of the apps, and tries to do it again, it locks up. We have tried to reinstall Office, reinstall Novell, Check for any indexing applications, we disabled McAfee On Demand Scan, we turned off the handout works application that he has added in to powerpoint, to no avail, we have edited the registry, checked start up items, ect...but nothing! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, yeah, he is the CEO of the Hospital i work at, so not fixing it isnt a problem. :-)

If all else fails, spend the $35 per request fee, that M$ charges to walk you through a solution. They have people waiting to help if you are willing to pay the price.

This can sometimes happen if you are mapped to a network location that no longer exsists. Have a look in Explorer for any drives being mapped to a location that doesn't exsist anymore and if you find any, disconnect from them.

I was going to say the same thing Kurt said. Check for mapped drives that are no longer valid, or unavailable.

That actually makes a lot of sense :-) We just upgraded the our application server, and changed the share name. I will try that right now. Appreciate it!
